Description:
The Batteau Grace of the James on November 18, 2009. The day started beside the Arnold Valley which is just downriver from Natural Bridge Station on the James River. Breakfast was cooked on board the batteau and two people were picked up at Glascow beside the confluence of the Maury River. Then for the first time since The Battteau Frank Padgett ran Balcony Falls around 1994, The Grace of the James ran Balcony. Captain Mason Basten. © Photos by Holt Messerly, All Rights Reserved. Holt also was there when the Frank Padgett ran Balcony, shooting with an old timey film camera in the days before digital! What an historic day!
